The touch of thought..

If you observe your day to day life there are so many joyful moments, it might be a festival, new job, going to a movie, being successful in what you are doing or spending good time with your friends on some weekend…etc. When these events actually happening you will be filled up with new energy and your heart will be filled up with happiness, till this point it is quite good to have as these moments makes you healthy both outwardly and inwardly.

Suppose a boy or girl went with their family to watch a movie and had a very nice time, if they lived these moments completely then they will be back to home with very little memory. Those moments are nice because those are the moments in which they forget themselves, their little worries, fears, pain of not having something….etc, they died for their daily boredom of going to school, solving problems..Etc. When these moments occur in our lives we must learn how to die to these moments as soon as they are over or keep very little memory about them.

Now please try to understand when these moments turned into memory what happens? Our thoughts are based on our memory, so thought tries to repeat the same joyful moments once again, it tries to chew the residue of our memory. That means the joyful moments once lived now thought is trying to live again by creating illusion. So this desire to repeat leads to pain without any failure. So when a joyful moment is touched by thought it turns it into dark.

So with true self knowledge thought comes to it’s right place, it won’t enter into those fields of life in which thought is unnecessary, as thought reduces happiness will increase. One must remember that thought should reduce through understanding and learning of its activities not through imposed discipline as imposed discipline is again the activity of thought.
