The true action for a better society is cleansing your mind from self centered activity, without waiting for the society to change, because you are the society and you are the world.

keep this in mind
These teachings are not something which I can read and I hope something is going to happen in my life. It needs your own perception and realization of facts, to bring a radical change in our lives. That perception demands a great deal of attention and sensitivity, still it is effortless.
Wise thing is to understand what I am now. When you love something you can observe the ob sense of effort. This is real learning I feel. JK is showing something which we have ignored almost. With out understanding about you, there is no way that one can live happily in this world. I must understand my sorrow completely in order to be happy.
1) Through negation you have to come to positivity. That means by looking
at false as false inside myself, there is a possibility of change
inside myself. By understanding what is not love, you will come to what
love is.
2) Thinking will never solve human problems, where as action which is born
out of perception of a fact will solve all our problems.
3) You must be a light to yourself. Through his books and talks K is just
describing or trying to show you something. Now it is absolutely your
work to realize those facts for yourself. The description is not the
described.
American culture
Obviously you can see good result when you have proper rules for traffic on the road. I think by seeing the success of those rules they put some rules on their lives itself, for example
1) you must think positively
2) you must be polite to others
3) you must be successful and you should work hard….etc
So the order in their daily living is the result of imposed rules not through understanding. Obviously those rules will bring conflict, and now the present generation is looking for freedom which is just opposite of those rules.
So they are going for freedom from something, not for the freedom of thought.
This is my personal understanding

what iscorruption?
human mind can not be changed, this has been proved through various efforts put by man. Where as if you want to change the human conditioning the best tool will be education(in it's pure sense).
question:-
Thanks for the email. We certainly need meaningful education for all to make people act in an enlightened manner, and reconcile their personal goals with public good. At the same time, if we do not create the right incentives for good behaviour, and ensure penalties for bad behaviour, many people continue to put personal greed above public good. Society is a much more powerful educator than a class room. That is why we need to focus on education as well as a governance system which nurtures integrity and punishes corruption.
answer:-
With great respect towards you I want to question you?
When you said right incentives, why one needs reward or punishment to do something good. It's not the case between a mother and a child.
sir, I don't know weather you are aware of it or not, the best thing is when you speak, your consciousness effects the other who is listening.
Not only you when somebody stands for something, he really effects the entire society. Change always comes with one or two human beings, the rest will follow them. It's not a massive movement rather a individual's vision or perception of truth which brings change.
The writer is somebody who has seen that change in his life through J Krishnamurti. Through centuries we have seen innumerable parties, leaders, charities and so on and so on. But the result is in front of our eyes. The answer is in self knowledge (Spiritualiry or simply knowing about yourself).
Real spirituality is something which acts like a fire to wipe out all your beliefs, hopes and innumerable gods so that you will question with a open mind Real spirituality is a revolution within not outside. Which is not evolution. It is a tool to break the human conditioning.
But it has been corrupted by ugly guru's who are coining money.
The reason writing this mail is, I have seen tremendous change in my life through krishnamurti readings. Now my life is effortless and without conflict.
I unweared the ego, selfishness, fear and anxiety the rest by looking at them, not by running away from them. A selfish person is always dangerous to your party and to the society. This danger is always there from ancient kings to nowadays politicians, but we have ignored it alot. I am talking about that education.
what is getting hurt?
If you are facing difficulty in understanding the mails, I recommend reading "Freedom from the Known" by JK.
When I have an image about myself, that I am a good, kind and intelligent human being or whatever it might be.Somebody comes along and says you are a fool or some unpleasant thing, I say I got hurt.
Now the question is what is getting hurt?
Is it the image that I created about myself?
Can thought solves all our problems?
I got benefited by reading J Krishnamurti, but I haven’t read keeping benefits in mind, it just happened.
So I just want to introduce you to the teachings of JK.
K: - We assume that thinking will solve our problems, but we have never gone into the whole issue of what thinking is. So long as I remain a Hindu, a Christian, or what you will, my thinking must be shaped by that pattern; therefore, my thinking, my whole response to life, is conditioned. So long as I think as an Indian, a German, or whatever it is and act according to that petty, nationalistic background, it inevitably leads to separation, to hatred, to war and misery. So we have to inquire into the whole problem of thinking. There is no freedom of thought because all thought is conditioned. There is freedom only when I understand that all thought is conditioned and am therefore free of that conditioning—which means, really, that there is no thought at all, no thinking in terms of Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, German, or what you will, but pure observation, complete attention. In this, I think, lies the real revolution—in the immense understanding that thought does not solve the problem of existence. Which does not mean that you must become thoughtless? On the contrary. To understand the process of thinking requires not acceptance or denial but intense inquiry. When the mind understands the whole process of itself, there is then a fundamental revolution, a radical change, which is not brought about through conscious effort. It is an effortless state, out of which comes a total transformation.
Through understanding of our own thinking, thought comes to its right place. It ceases "naturally" in certain areas (naturally through understanding, not through effort). Because the effort maker (who is trying to control thought) is not different from thought process. Understanding thought is the most difficult thing for us, because it demands a mind which observes itself, without condemnation or justification.

is there any need for ideals or idealism
MySelf:-
When I read kalam or watch a movie like "CHAKDE" I feel like I got inspired, but watch for yourself is it really bringing any real change in your day to day activities, or it is just like a water bubble, which is there for short period of time.
authority to know about yourself is destructive..
Whomever you follow, he or she will become your psychological authority. Don't you realise that bible, geeta, khuran all these so called sacred books became authority for humanbeings, and this very authority prevents me or conditioned humanbeing to look at himself directly. Also there is one more authority known as knowledge (psychological) which I accumulated through books, ideals, religions...etc, which I will never question. Any form of authority is destructive in coming direct contact with myself. Even the speaker (JK) as authority is destructive, he is not exclusive to that. Real discussion means, learning from each other.

how can the mind stop working against itself?
Questioner: You were saying there is conflict, which is all the actions of the mind, and this conflict destroys the sensitivity and the energy and the passion of the mind itself. So the mind dulls itself by conflict, by working against itself.
Krishnamurti: So your question becomes: how can the mind stop working against itself?
Questioner: Yes.
Krishnamurti: Is this question one more condemnation, justification, escape, one more of these interfering activities of the mind which makes it work against itself? If it is, then it breeds conflict. Is this question trying to get rid of conflict? If it is, it is more conflict, and you are forever in this vicious circle. So the right question is not how to end conflict but to see the truth that where passion and sensitivity are, conflict is absent. Do you see this?
Questioner: Yes.
Krishnamurti: So you can no longer be concerned with the ending of conflict; it will wither away. But it will never wither so long as thought is nourishing it. What is important is the passion and the sensitivity, not the ending of conflict.
My Understanding:
Whenever somebody tells me some fact about life (like psychological effort to become something breeds conflict), my immediate reaction will be how can I reach that particular state(how can I end that conflict), but in asking "HOW" I am missing out my own responsibility to understand and absorb that fact. If you watch carefully that "HOW" is an escape from my action. So can we stop the question "HOW" completely through the understanding of this fact? when it is stopped naturally not by effort, my mind is ready to understand the fact on it's own. It is not interested in the end result rather interested in going deep into the fact. Then I think I am loving that problem, and as a result it reveals itself for me.

my last day mail @ symantec.
I got benefited by reading J Krishnamurti, but I haven’t read him keeping benefits in mind, it just happened. So I thought of introducing facts about life to you, is better than writing a last day mail.
If one can observe closely oneself, there is constant struggle going on to become something (psychologically).
What you are is present (in time). ---- This is reality What you want to be is in future (in time). ----- This is an image or illusion created by thought.
One is trying to become like his ideal, or the noble image which he created for himself, through different experiences in life. Through books, gurus or through religions this image is going to form. Obviously this image is an illusion created by thought.
Now the question is through motive or willpower can one change psychologically? Or can it happen only through understanding of what you are in the present?.
All the time if I am trying for that image, it is definitely an escape from my reality. My reality might be that I am ugly, un-intelligent and so on. But if you see in the society everybody is after an image, the more you struggle the more recognition you will get. As it is going on like that, we are also accepted it as truth
I believe. But once if I stop all my struggle to become something, and start living with what I am without trying to change it. That means I am watching inside myself false as false. This watching brings the perception of the reality.
The reality has its own action; it gives the freedom, not your effort to be free of your desires, anger and the rest of it. So can you try to see falseness of effort or struggle, in bringing the change in your self?
I am struggling, struggling but no change is coming into my being, so I think that time I have to question my struggle. I think all the life is about negating the self not self improvement.
It demands your attention and understanding not following.

Reality is the interval between two thoughts..
It is really extraordinarily interesting to watch the operation of one’s own thinking, just to observe how one thinks, where that reaction we call thinking, springs from. Obviously from memory. Is there a beginning to thought at all? If there is, can we find out its beginning – that is, the beginning of memory, because if we had no memory we would have no thought?
Thought is so cunning, so clever, that it distorts everything for its own convenience. Thought in its demand for pleasure brings its own bondage. Thought is the breeder of duality in all our relationships: there is violence in us which gives us pleasure but there is also the desire for peace, the desire to be kind and gentle. This is what is going on all the time in all our lives. Thought not only breeds this duality in us, this contradiction, but it also accumulates the innumerable memories we have had of pleasure and pain, and from these memories it is reborn.
Myself:-
You can not possibly control thought at any level, your control brings duality and conflict, but it is only through understanding the structure of thought you can come out of thinking. Then thought ceases naturally in certain areas of life.
Your mere acceptance or denial of this mail won’t bring change in your life, but if you can examine this content in your life then there is a possibility of change.

action for better society..
Dear Friends,
I am Prasad and I am reading Jiddu Krishnamurti since last 10+ years it effected me in such a way that thought naturally ceased in certain areas of my life or I can say thought came to it's right place. I realized that thought is the root cause of all the misery in the world. I realized the foundation for better society is healthy, quiet and simple inner world of a human being. A quiet and peaceful mind can create a peaceful society not the other way.
I think these are the factors that are preventing a change in the society
a) We are not realizing that society is created by us. It is not different from us.
b) I am ready to change the society but not myself.
c) Authority prevents self learning this authority might be a guru, book, religion, ideals or my own beliefs, the knowledge that I acquired never want to question..etc
Now the action is completely about myself. How can a person look at himself as he is not how he wanted to be or how he has been. Basically this blog is about facts of day to day life. A journey of self exploration not according to some authority but as two friends.
Thanks,
GP
