Peace of mind .. nice story

How simple life will be if we let it go when it is necessary, I hope one is not get carried away by the story, but try to have insight.

Once Buddha was walking from one town to another town with a few of his followers. This was in the initial days. While they were traveling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and Buddha told one of his disciples, “I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there.”The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to Buddha to drink!” So he came back and told Buddha, “The water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink.”After about half an hour, again Buddha asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down and the water above it looked fit to be had. So he collected some water in a pot and brought it to Buddha.Buddha looked at the water, and then he looked up at the disciple and said, “See what you did to make the water clean. You let it be … and the mud settled down on its own – and you got clear water… Your mind is also like that. When it is disturbed, just let it be. Give it a little time. It will settle down on its own. You don’t have to put in any effort to calm it down. It will happen. It is effortless.”

dear friends, once the mind calm down it can see things clearly, out of that seeing action comes out, and there is no place for conflict or pain in that action.

The lawyer inside us

There is a lawyer inside our mind, who always judges and defends what ever we are thinking as truth. This lawyer also puts us in belief that others are wrong and only our understanding is correct. If this lawyer is interested in truth we can create entirely different society, but unfortunately he is not. A mind which is incapable to see difference between illusion and truth can only bring disorder in its action. Illusion is nothing but taking non fact as truth and vice versa. Don't think this lawyer is only destroying society he is destroying our own life also, because the strength and energy that we should get when we perceive truth we are missing. If we can get that unlimited energy our life will be filled with happiness and joy, for which we kept ourselves in an endless race of becoming. Now can you look at the lawyer inside you and have some fun with him, because only when you make friendship with him you can understand him and negate him effortlessly, not when you say I must live without that lawyer. Please remember understanding is the task you are left with, you can't be lazy about this. My dear friends I don't know whether you can see it or not, how beautiful and happy our life will be if we can stand for truth.
In that stand you may lose many things which you hold very dear to yourself, that very losing makes you nothing and nothing contains everything. Is not this lawyer nothing but our own psychological knowledge, knowledge being what our parents told us, the books that we read, different political, religious, social influences on our mind all these forms this lawyer. But the question is how much we purified the content before taking it as granted? What if this lawyer is bundle of knowledge and memories? That’s why it is said with knowledge comes ignorance. We are talking about psychological knowledge not technological knowledge. The ability to look at something with a simple mind is the key to happiness in life, not acquiring money, land, power, position...etc. Please feel free to correct me if my mails are wrong, but please show interest to discuss not to argue or to show what you know already.

Decision or will power will not bring virtue

There are two categories of states in our mind and they are order and disorder. In the category of orderly states comes love, happiness, joy, sharing, compassion, intelligence...etc and in the category of disorder states comes hatred, sorrow, pleasure, self centered, illusions, fear, conflict...etc. If you observe carefully all the religions have taught about orderly states i.e.) love your neighbor, don't hate anyone...etc, not only religions but so many gurus, ideals, ideologies, social organizations and now a days print media or electronic media tried to put human being in orderly state of mind and mostly they failed, which is evident by seeing the present society. Realizing that they all failed and not going into their trap again is one thing and then you and I should find out why they failed.
Now the single point that we left with is we must live with orderly states in our mind, I think the catching point is the decision or will power will not work out in this scenario, what I mean is I can't say to myself that I must be good to others from now onwards and be good to others. Decision of any kind can not bring virtue in human mind, and it seems there is nothing one should do to be virtuous. Understand your disorderly states or simply realize, be aware that the mind is occupied with disorder this simple realization will bring virtue. Don't force yourself for order in life just understand disorder in your life. Only through negation of disorder is there order in life? this negation should be out of learning without any desire for end result.
